There are Christmas parties where, after an hour and a half, you think: Well, that was quite nice, wasn't it?
And then there are Christmas parties where food is constantly being refilled, glasses are constantly being filled, and two men are now singing live.
KLAAS is clearly aiming for the second category this year.
On Thursday, December 18th, the "Christmas Drinks XL" event will take place again at Eetcafé Klaas in Uitgeest. From 6:00 PM to 10:00 PM, you can enjoy a dinner on the go, unlimited beer, soft drinks and wine, as well as live performances by Menno Schellevis and Erwin de Wit.
In other words: This isn't just something for a quick Christmas drink . You should set aside the whole evening for it.
Two singers, that could be fun.
We now know Menno Schellevis from several evenings at KLAAS, and this year Erwin de Wit is also on the program.
And with two singers, a restaurant full of people starting their Christmas holidays, and four hours of unlimited drinks, I cautiously predict that the noise level will be somewhat higher at 9:30 pm than it was at 6:05 pm.
This is exactly how a successful Christmas party should go.
Dinner on the go and unlimited drinks
You don't have to go out to eat beforehand.
As part of the "Christmas Drinks XL" event, KLAAS will be serving a walking dinner with small dishes. Unlimited beer, wine, and non-alcoholic beverages are included from 6:00 PM to 10:00 PM.
So, no three-course meal where everyone sits quietly. Instead: strolling around, eating something, meeting someone, having a drink, and enjoying live music.
That would actually be much more fitting for a Christmas party.

5 things you might not know
This is the XL version. This means, above all, that the word "drinks" significantly underestimates the scale of the evening.
The combination of a dinner on the go and live music has one big advantage: no one has to sit politely in the same chair for four hours.
Both Menno and Erwin are on the program. So, two singers. The likelihood that it will only be background music seems pretty low to me.
“I’ll take the car, I’m only going to have one glass of wine anyway” is perhaps a plan that should be reconsidered in light of a package offering four hours of unlimited wine enjoyment.
The event takes place on Thursday evening. Therefore, I personally wouldn't plan too ambitious a schedule for 7:00 a.m. on Friday, December 19th.
