If, like us, you love the atmosphere, the winter lights, and the special feeling of ringing in the New Year together , then you shouldn't miss this event. On Sunday, January 4th, the Marquette Estate is hosting a festive New Year's reception on the castle's domed roof – complete with twinkling lights, fireplaces, atmospheric music, and steaming hot chocolate with whipped cream. And the best part? This afternoon, you can get a behind-the-scenes look… the castle is opening its doors.
Why we love this event
You know, we have a weakness for unique buildings. Old walls, original beams, hidden staircases, and rooms you'd normally never enter—they instantly ignite our imagination. And perhaps it's also due to our own renovation projects, but once you're inside such a historic house, you always look around as if you could have the keys yourself.
That's why this part is so fascinating: you can walk through a castle that is normally closed to visitors. What do the corridors look like? Which rooms still breathe history? What do you see when you open a door that you usually only see from afar?
It feels a bit like getting an exclusive behind-the-scenes look at a place you've only admired from the outside for years. And that's precisely what makes this New Year's reception so special.
What can you expect?
A warm welcome walk around the roundabout, surrounded by lights and fireplaces.
Food truck with winter snacks
Free hot chocolate with a generous dollop of whipped cream (as it should be).
Live music that creates a cozy, comfortable winter atmosphere.
And of course: The doors of Château Marquette are open.
We at Boutique Stay always find such events to be a wonderful reminder of how beautiful this region is. Within just a few minutes' drive, you are suddenly surrounded by history, nature, and pure winter magic.
