Children grow out of their clothes about three times before you finally sort through the bag of clothes that are too small.

And toys? Let's not even talk about that.

On Sunday, November 8th, the De Zien sports hall in Uitgeest will be transformed into the Bambini Market: a hall full of new and used children's clothing, toys, books and accessories for children from 0 to 12 years old.

For anyone who thinks: This could easily take another round.

That's precisely what makes this market so wonderful. The trousers a child has outgrown after three months can simply find their way into another child's wardrobe. The same applies to toys that are suddenly no longer being used at home, and books that are now being read almost by heart.

Both private sellers and small businesses are represented at the market. The offerings consist mainly of used goods, but new and handmade products are also sold.

And yes, you can simply bring the children along.

And one more thing: Children up to and including 12 years of age have free admission, and strollers are welcome. The latter seems very practical to us at a trade fair full of children's products.

And for those who come without children and would like to browse in peace: The market only lasts until 1:30 pm. After that, you have all day Sunday to display your finds.

5 things you might not know

  1. The very first Bambini fair took place in Alkmaar in 2023 and immediately attracted 325 visitors. Not a bad start.

  2. You can find more than just secondhand goods there. Small businesses also sell new and handmade products.

  3. Children aged 12 and under get in free. This saves money – they can spend the entrance fee inside.

  4. Buying a ticket online saves you €1 compared to the ticket price at the box office. See, that's enough to easily buy a used children's book.

  5. Do you have a wardrobe full of children's clothes that are too small? You can also take the other side of the table: private sellers can rent their own sales space.
