Sometimes you hear about an event and immediately think, "This is exactly the right thing for this particular friend of mine ." That's exactly what happened at Hendricks Karavaan on the Beeckestijn estate. When I read the program—theater among ancient trees, storytelling in and around the house, atmospheric evening lighting in the garden—I knew immediately: She has to go. And yes, she's already booked tickets.
Stories between well-kept alleys and overgrown paths
Beeckestijn in Velsen-Zuid is one of those places where history and nature blend beautifully. A country estate with symmetrical French gardens and a playful English landscape park. And right there, amidst these styles, alleys, and vistas, the brand-new Hendricks Karavaan festival takes place. In small groups, you'll wander from stage to stage, enjoying theater, music, dance, and surprises along the way.
My girlfriend loves culture and good stories. Live music outdoors and discovering new things. So this will be her trip of the year – even though I warned her: You don't just come to watch, you become part of the story. And that's the beauty of it.

Visitors are asked to arrive at least 15 minutes before the start time. There's a small café on site where you can enjoy a drink or a local snack. It's said to be especially magical in the evening, when the house and garden are softly illuminated.
