Sometimes you just have to stop trying to understand everything.


I'm actually quite good at it. I always want to know how things turn out. How a story ends. What the common thread is.


Apparently, that's exactly what you shouldn't do during Bromens .

The cabaret duo BRO's even has a tip for the audience: Don't look for a common denominator. Because there isn't one. And perhaps that's precisely the joke.

On Saturday, October 31st, Maurits Wijmenga and Ramses van Hall will present their first full-length show at De Zwaan Cultureel. Look forward to an evening where awkward silences, absurd situations, and uproarious laughter alternate at breakneck speed.


A performance where anything goes

Some cabaret performances tell a story.

Not bromen.

One moment you see two psychologists without any empathy, the next moment little boys, dancing idols or a situation that makes you wonder: "What is actually happening here?"

And that is precisely the intention.

You don't have to solve or understand anything. You just have to sit back and let yourself be swept away by the total chaos.


From cabarets to the theaters

Maurits Wijmenga and Ramses van Hall met at the Amsterdam drama school and decided to go on stage together.

Successful.

At the Cameretten Festival 2023, they won not only the jury prize but also the audience award. The jury commented: "They conjure up cheeky, daring jokes every minute," and their craziness is infectious.

That looks promising.
