32 years... Dad... Is that all... Amazing... Dutch grass...


I bet at least one melody will be stuck in your head immediately.

That's perhaps what's so special about Doe Maar. You don't have to be a fan to know their songs. They're simply part of the Netherlands. And on Sunday, November 29th, all these classics will be brought back to life at Doe Maar Undercover at De Zwaan Cultureel.


Not an imitation, but an ode

The first thing I noticed was that Doe Maar Undercover explicitly does not describe themselves as a tribute band.


And to be honest, I completely understand that.


They are not trying to imitate the band, but are lovingly paying tribute to the music as it was originally intended: groovy, raw, energetic and without frills.

This is also evident in the lineup. The musicians have already collaborated with well-known figures in the Dutch ska and reggae scene, such as Rootsriders, Mark Foggo, The Beatbusters, and The Toasters. This experience is palpable in every note.


Some songs simply never get old.

I always find that special.

There are songs that you haven't heard in years, yet you can still sing along to word for word.

That's exactly what will probably happen this afternoon. Someone will start playing the first notes of "32 Jaar of Pa," and before you know it, the whole room will be humming along softly.

Perhaps a little mean.

But with a broad smile.
