Bridge with a five-course lunch. Well, now you have my attention.


Because at Lekker Bridgen in Uitgeest, it is certainly not the intention that you stare at thirteen cards with a deadly serious expression from half past ten until five o'clock.

You play a round of bridge, lay down your cards, and get something to eat. Then you play bridge again, eat again, play bridge again… I'm starting to understand why these drive-ins are so popular.


Lekker Bridgen will be visiting Klaas Uitgeest on Saturday, September 5th.


Bridge with a five-course lunch

The Saturday trips offered by Stichting Promotie Bridge Uitgeest take place from 10:30 am to 5:00 pm. After each trip, there is a break during which one course of the five-course lunch is served.


And I actually think it's an ingenious system.


There's always a little time to chat, you can treat yourself to a tasty snack, and perhaps decide in a very mature way that you have forgiven your partner for that one incomprehensible offer.

Then the cards can be put back on the table.


This time at KLAAS

The first ride of the new season will take place at KLAAS on Middelweg in Uitgeest.


The great thing about Lekker Bridgen is that the boat trips during the season visit different restaurants in the village. It's always the same hobby, but always a different place and different food.

And so KLAAS starts on September 5th.

5 things you (almost) always experience

  1. You say beforehand that you're only coming for fun. Until your opponent enters into a contract that you knew perfectly well was impossible.

  2. After the first round, the cards are discussed. By the third course at the latest, everyone knows where their table neighbors live and where they've vacationed.

  3. Your bridge partner makes a completely incomprehensible bid. According to your bridge partner, however, it was crystal clear.

  4. A five-course lunch sounds rather fancy for a snack enjoyed between courses with a stack of playing cards next to your plate. That's precisely what makes it so appealing.

  5. At 10:30 a.m. you think: A whole day of bridge . At 5:00 p.m. you think: Are we finished yet?
