Sometimes the most extraordinary things are found in the simplest of things. Drinking a beer. Listening to a song. Just dropping by De Kroeg for a bit. And, at the same time, working together to ensure that the De Zien swimming pool can continue to exist.
This week, Uitgeest will be entirely dedicated to the glasshouse for three days. — a musical and entertaining charity event. And let's be honest: events like these are exactly what our village thrives on.
Three days full of music, fun and interactive activities
In collaboration with OSU, De Kroeg Uitgeest will be filled with DJs, music, and performances on Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday . Live music, DJs, song requests, familiar faces, and new encounters: it's all there.
The great thing about it is that it works very simply: 👉 For every beer or wine sold, 50 cents go directly to Zwembad De Zien. So yes – every beer really counts .

In between sets, the OSU DJs play all the music requests and the biggest hits. You're guaranteed not to get bored here.
Why this is such a wonderful village initiative
What I love about this place is its simplicity. You don't have to buy anything, plan anything, or make any reservations. You just walk in – and immediately become part of something bigger.
The De Zien swimming pool is a familiar place for so many people. Swimming lessons, children's birthday parties, summer afternoons, carefree splashing around. It simply feels good to be able to contribute in such an uncomplicated way.
Even personal
I'm finding that these kinds of initiatives appeal to me more and more. Not because they're great or perfect, but precisely because they're so unique. People who are committed, musicians who drop by, volunteers who DJ, and visitors who simply come for a drink.
And let's be honest: a beer simply tastes a little better when you know that it also contributes to something that brings joy to so many children.
