Good intentions? We'll come back to that later.
First, let's have a toast.
On Saturday, January 3, 2026, Cultuurkoepel in Heiloo will once again transform into a vibrant meeting place for everyone who loves craft beer, good company, and a relaxed start to the new year. Join us at HAPPY NEW BEER 2026! to toast to a fresh new year with friends, neighbors, and other beer lovers – and of course, to new beers waiting to be discovered.
Enjoying, talking, and lingering
Happy New Beer is not an event where you rush. It's one of those afternoons where you quietly slip in and suddenly realize it's hours later. The atmospheric hall with its stained-glass windows, lively conversations, familiar and unfamiliar faces – and always that one glass that "could just be refilled one more time."
With your special festival glass in hand, you'll taste beers from six different breweries, each with its own unique style, flavor, and story. All breweries and beers are clearly listed in the festival program, so you don't have to remember anything (which is very handy after a few tastings).
These breweries are ready for you
The following will be present at this edition:
Bennebroecks (Bennebroek) – Audience favorite of Happy New Beer 2025
The monastery beer (Dinteloord)
Wispe Brewery (Weesp)
Great! Beer (Bergen)
The Blue Stag (Aalsmeer)
Roots Radics Brewery (Amsterdam)
The program
The doors open at 2 pm and do not close again until 8 pm.
Around 3:00 PM, each brewer presents their idea and their new beer on stage. Afterwards, the focus shifts to tasting, discovering new beers, chatting, and exchanging New Year's wishes.
As always, you can bring your own snacks – sharing is part of the fun. And there's something else to win: The brewery that sells the most beer during the festival will receive a special award. One of their beers will be available at Cultuurkoepel for a year.
Five beer facts for in between (that you can test at the bar)
Beer came before bread. So the priorities were perfectly set even back then.
Dark beer is not necessarily heavier than light beer – it just looks more sophisticated.
Tasting beer in the company of friends is demonstrably better than tasting it alone. While this isn't scientifically proven, everyone knows it.
“One more then” is not a unit of measurement, but it is understood worldwide.
The first beer of the year doesn't count. That's called tradition.
