An afternoon of bridge followed by drinks and satay. Doesn't that sound suspiciously like a good excuse to kick off the weekend on Thursday afternoon?
Lekker Bridgen is making a stop this time at the Brasserie C'est la vie in Uitgeest. And this edition is a little different from the usual Saturday outings.
No five-course lunch between rounds, but six rounds of play with tapas in between, followed by drinks and finally the satay arrangement from C'est la Vie.
The first three rounds. Then tapas.
You can come by for a coffee or tea from 13:00 onwards, and the cards will be put on the table at 13:25.
After the first three rounds, there will be a break with tapas. Rounds four through six will then be played, and around 4:40 pm it will be time for drinks, snacks, the announcement of the results, and the awards ceremony.
And you're not finished yet.
Feel free to stay a little longer.
The satay menu at C'est la Vie starts at 4:55 pm. The great thing about this Thursday trip is that housemates can join for dinner from 5:00 pm onwards. However, they must register beforehand.
Your bridge partner doesn't necessarily have to be the person you spend the rest of the evening with. Sometimes, after six rounds, that can even be good for the relationship.

At 1:25 pm you start fully focused. At 2:45 pm you're mainly wondering when exactly the tapas will arrive.
Your partner says: "The offer was logical, wasn't it?" No. Otherwise, you wouldn't be having this discussion now.
After six rounds, you know exactly which game cost you the victory. You'll probably still know that tomorrow.
Your roommate casually walks in at five o'clock for satay and has absolutely no idea what you've been going through for the last four hours.
In the end, everyone simply sits around the table. And bridge actually turns out to be a surprisingly good way to spend a Thursday afternoon in Uitgeest.
