Everyone knows someone who always says, "No, everything is fine."


And normally that's all you need to know.

Because in nine out of ten cases, something is indeed wrong.

Sjoerd Joosen and Jeroen de Jager play with precisely this idea in their new cabaret show "Niks aan het handje" . Everything seems to be under control. They are prepared for every situation. Nothing can possibly go wrong.

Until, of course, it all goes wrong.


The play will be performed at De Zwaan Cultureel in Uitgeest on Saturday, November 14th. Judging from the description, I expect an evening filled with laughter at situations where the reason for the humor isn't immediately clear.


Control is a wonderful plan... until it isn't anymore.

Everyone knows that feeling.

They believe everything is organized. The schedule is on track. They've thought of everything.

And then exactly what you didn't expect happens.

Joosen and De Jager transport their audience precisely into this world, with slapstick, absurd situations, and a breakneck pace where one surprise follows another.

Not complicated.

That's incredibly funny.


From the Leiden Cabaret Festival to De Zwaan

Sjoerd Joosen and Jeroen de Jager met at a theatre group in Etten-Leur and soon realized that together they could create something special.

In 2016, they reached the final of the Leids Cabaret Festival. Their show Aanklonteren was enthusiastically received and described by Theaterparadijs as "an absolute must for cabaret lovers".

With Niks aan het handje they will return to the theatre from September 2026.

And fortunately also to Uitgeest.

5 things that sparked my curiosity

  • I wonder how long the saying "No cause for concern" will actually remain valid.

  • Slapstick remains funny because sometimes you have to laugh even before a word has been spoken.

  • The best thing about the absurd is that you often only realize how brilliant a scene actually was in retrospect.

  • A three-course meal at KLAAS beforehand sounds considerably less chaotic than the performance itself.

  • There is a good chance that you will use the words "no need to worry" with a completely different meaning for the rest of the week.
