From performances in Europe and China to an evening in her home village: On Friday, September 18th, guitarist Karlijn Langendijk, originally from Uitgeest, returns to the stage of De Zwaan Cultureel. Not alone, but together with three top international guitarists who are currently touring Europe as MusiSHEans .

That's precisely what makes this evening so special. A musician who once began her passion in Uitgeest is now on stage in her hometown together with colleagues from Scotland, Germany, and Russia.

A home game with international flair

For Karlijn, this is no ordinary concert. She grew up in Uitgeest and began playing guitar at the age of thirteen. Since then, she has performed in Europe and China, among other places, and is one of the founders of MusiSHEans.

The fact that she is also making a stop in Uitgeest as part of her European tour feels almost like a musical home game.

Four female guitarists, four unique styles

During the concert you will meet four musicians, each bringing their own unique sound.

Scottish artist Ali Tod combines vocals, percussive fingerstyle playing, and loop pedal into high-energy performances. Valeria Galimova from Russia plays classical guitar at an international level, while Judith Beckedorf from Germany blends pop fingerstyle and singer-songwriter music with influences from American folk music.

Together with Karlijn, a diverse program is created in which classical music, modern fingerstyle, acoustic music and singer-songwriters alternate effortlessly.

MusiSHEans was founded on the firm conviction that music knows no gender.

By highlighting professional female guitarists, the collective aims to inspire young girls to make music themselves and develop their talent. The musicians tour Europe together every year and are supported by internationally renowned guitarists.
