Some afternoons feel like a ray of sunshine in January – and Sunday, January 18, 2026, will be just such an afternoon. Because this time, De Zwaan isn't hosting an ordinary theater concert, but SantanAcoustic : an acoustic homage to the music of Santana, full of Latin rock, rhythm, and warm guitar sounds.
It may be freezing cold outside, but inside it promises to be incredibly warm . And it's precisely this contrast that makes me so happy in January.
Perhaps it's because we've been hosting our public garden days at Boutique Stay for several years now – concerts, talks, and social gatherings – but these little musical experiences always touch me anew. They feel familiar, warm, and simply perfect for a winter month like this.
Why this performance is especially fun for Uitgeest
SantanAcoustic is a group of versatile, top-notch musicians from the IJmond region, each with their own unique style, energy, and musicality. One name immediately caught my eye: Hans Schoone – a bassist well-known in Uitgeest thanks to the Open Tuinen Podium and other local music initiatives.
But it is precisely the combination of these musicians that makes it so special: They all have their roots in the region, know each other musically inside and out, and together they bring this warm Santana sound to life.
It doesn't feel like a concert you're "going" to, but rather like an afternoon shaped by our own IJmond music community. This is our village, our music, our afternoon.

A personal note
Since we at Boutique Stay have been opening our gardens for several years now, I am discovering more and more how special it is to experience music in a cozy, almost homely atmosphere.
These little moments when people listen together, laugh, look at each other – that's what makes music so much more special. And at a concert like SantanAcoustic, you feel it immediately: the warmth, the intimacy, the energy… and all of this on a cold winter's day.
