Soft paws. Big eyes. And cats completely unaware of all the attention.

On Friday, February 14th and Saturday, February 15th, 2026, Uitgeest will become a paradise for cat lovers. The Mundikat International Cat Show will take place at Optisport De Zien. A pleasant and surprisingly entertaining outing for the whole family – even if you don't own a cat yourself.

Why this will automatically make you happy

At this cat show, you'll encounter hundreds of cats of all shapes and sizes. Elegant, plump, fluffy, robust, curious, or wonderfully stubborn. You can watch the judging, chat with breeders, and quickly discover that simply "looking" usually leads to a much longer stay.

The atmosphere is relaxed and inviting. No hustle and bustle, no crowds – just watch, smile, and enjoy.

Further information about the show and the club:

The five most brutal things cats are likely to see on the show.

Because cats rarely do what you expect of them. Thankfully.

1. A cat that refuses to cooperate (and makes that very clear). Judge it or not – this cat has other plans today.

2. The ultimate sideways glance. This look says it all. And it's anything but friendly.

3. Sit down dramatically, precisely when something needs to be done. Walk? No. Stand? Also no. Sit. Here. Now.

4. Completely ignore everything and everyone except yourself. Applause, cameras, people – totally irrelevant.

5. The unmistakable "This is my show" pose. Tail up. Chin a little too high. No doubt who the star is here.
