Never buy anything on Temu if you're awake at 2:17 am.

That would at least be sensible.
Sometime during a sleepless period, I had the idea to order two small blue peacocks.
Why?
No idea.
But at 2:17 a.m., I apparently thought it was a great idea.
The transition is a kind of surprise package that no one has voluntarily signed up for.
You never know what you're going to get.
Poor sleep.
Hot flashes.
Dry eyes.
And apparently also the irrepressible urge to order two gleaming blue peacocks at two o'clock in the morning.
Why two?
I have no idea either.
But at 2:17 a.m., it all sounded perfectly logical.
The package arrived a few days later.
Bo was still thinking:
That's great, a wonderful package. That should cheer you up.
Me too, by the way.
That's why I decided to make a video when I opened it.
Not because I regretted it.
On the contrary.
To be honest, I thought I had bought something really nice.
Until the moment I took it out of the paper.
Then I thought:
"O."
His whole face is beaming.
And not just a little bit.
In retrospect, this is indeed clearly visible in the photos. But apparently, at 2:17 a.m., my brain mainly perceived the following:
A cute little peacock.
And not:
This thing can probably also guide aircraft at Schiphol.
How a blue peacock suddenly became Aunt Edith
I laughed so loudly that I finally decided to post the video online.
Apparently, many other people thought the same.
On TikTok, people mainly asked if I had been drinking alcohol.
NO.
Just tired.
That also seems to be a state of being.
On Facebook, women in particular wanted to know where they could buy them.
And somewhere amidst all the reactions, someone suddenly mentioned her:
Aunt Edith.
I was doubled over with laughter.
And that name has stuck.
Aunt Edith's future home
Meanwhile, more importance is attached to Aunt Edith's future place of residence than to many important things in life.
Will it stay blue?
Will she undergo a mushroom-colored skin change?
Will she be joining the pink chickens next?
Or will she simply be placed where nobody understands why there's suddenly a peacock there?
I really have no idea.
But one thing I know for sure now.
Being able to laugh at yourself makes a big difference in life.
And in case you ever wonder why there's a little peacock somewhere named Aunt Edith…
Don't ask any more questions.
Some family histories are complicated.
And for all the women who are reading this awake at 2:17 a.m.:
Simply close the Temu app.
Real.
Just ask Aunt Edith. 🦚💕🤣
Yes, there is video footage 🤣
