On Wednesday, January 14th, the municipality of Uitgeest invites all residents to the New Year's concert at the Dutch Reformed Church. A warm and convivial atmosphere awaits, providing an opportunity to welcome the new year together with music, fellowship, and a toast in the heart of the village.
The concert will take place in the Dutch Reformed Church on Castricummerweg. It might not be immediately familiar to everyone, but for us it's much more than just a church. We didn't grow up religious, but over the years we've experienced many wonderful and unforgettable moments here.
The room is bright and open, with a high ceiling, wooden elements, and acoustics that perfectly showcase the music. Large enough to make an impression, yet never feeling imposing. That's precisely why it's so perfect for an evening like this: coming together, listening to music, and reflecting on the start of a new year.
What I personally find so special about this place is that it offers space for all kinds of moments. From memorial services to celebrations, from silence to music. It exudes a spiritual atmosphere without being tied to any particular faith. You enter, linger for a moment, and yet immediately feel welcome.
I think it's wonderful that the church's New Year's concert is taking place here. It shows that the Dutch Reformed Church in Uitgeest is a place for everyone: young and old, long-time residents and newcomers; a place for music, memories, and new encounters.
Music and encounter
The New Year's concert features performances by artists from the singing school, the music school, and the Spaarne Town Combo. Local talent will create a varied and atmospheric evening of music. Here you can not only listen, but also chat with others and welcome the new year together.
