A Sunday morning when you don't have to go anywhere, except perhaps to De Zwaan. There, Nienke van den Berg and Daniël Mathot are playing a relaxed concert of pop, jazz, and country music – perfect for anyone who wants to start the day peacefully.
A cheerful and welcoming morning concert will take place at the De Zwaan Community Center on Sunday, March 8, 2026. Familiar songs that you'll instantly recognize will alternate with pieces you may not know yet, but which will sound surprisingly familiar. Music for a relaxed start to the day – with a cup of coffee in hand and absolutely no rush.
What makes this concert special is its connection to Uitgeest.
Since 2020, Nienke van den Berg has been teaching singing again at the Nieuwe Muziekschool in Uitgeest. She had previously taught there for many years, at peak times with up to 180 students. After a period of working extensively throughout the country, she is now back in her home village – and her enthusiasm is evident.
In addition to her work in Uitgeest, Nienke is active as a singer and vocal coach for major productions. She participated in several seasons of "The Masked Singer" and was a presenter for the NPO Zappelin for many years. She also performs regularly in the theater, including in the children's play "Apennoten," with which she is currently touring the country.
Daniël Mathot accompanies her on guitar. He also studied jazz and has played with various jazz, pop, and world music bands both in Germany and abroad. His playing is fluid and versatile, and he switches effortlessly between styles. In addition to the guitar, he also plays instruments such as the mandolin, banjo, and harmonica, which lends the duo a special touch and a playful character.
Together they form a duo that never feels intrusive, but rather invites you to sit back and enjoy. No pompous stage atmosphere, no distance – simply music that is intimate and perfect for a Sunday morning.
