Sometimes an evening comes quite suddenly when you ask yourself: Hmm, does this really still exist?

The Frenchman – a well-known name in Alkmaar for years – is a guest of Klaas in Uitgeest for two evenings.

And yes, that simply means: fondue. Just like you might remember it from your childhood.

Uncomplicated. But cozy. And exactly the kind of evening where you think: Let's stay a little longer.

Two fondues, one table

Klaas has been mastering fondue for years. The Klaas fondue is a staple on their menu, and guests keep coming back for it.

No – it's not suddenly "better".

But different.

On two evenings, a different hand is in the kitchen. A different taste. Perhaps seasoned slightly differently, served slightly differently.

And quite honestly: that's exactly what makes it fun.

Simply a lovely evening

No extensive menu. No stress.

Just a pan on the table, something to drink, and time slows down on its own.

One of those evenings when you think: just one more round.

And then another one.

Did you know…

  • For over 40 years, De Fransman was a well-known name and for many people the place to spend an evening enjoying fondue.

  • Fondue is one of those dishes that you always end up spending longer than you originally intended.

  • In the past, for many people, dropping their sandwich meant having to throw a quarter into the pot.

  • Klaas has been serving his own fondue for years, so it's basically just two different versions.

  • And it's precisely on evenings like these that you say afterwards: We should do this more often.

Our tip

This is one of those evenings you don't plan, but afterwards you're glad you went.

So if you're in the area or just fancy an evening out in the city – you shouldn't put it off for too long.
