Some performances defy description in a single word. Music? Yes. Theater? Absolutely. Humor? Definitely. The Omniband is above all one big "Hey, cozy!" – and that's precisely what makes this evening so enjoyable.

Three musicians, twenty-six instruments, and boundless curiosity. Omniband does everything that makes them happy: experimenting, combining, failing, and creating something new. You feel like you're entering their world of thought – and there it is: a joyful, musical chaos.

A musical playground

Omniband consists of Jochem van Hoogdalem, Sander Borst, and Douwe Nauta. They met in the Ricciotti Ensemble, a breeding ground for musicians who want to think and play differently. This is immediately apparent.

Don't expect a rigidly structured concert, but rather a performance where beautiful music effortlessly blends with good and bad jokes, as well as moments that will have you spontaneously tapping your feet. Sometimes virtuosic, sometimes absurd – but always with visible joy.

They draw inspiration from artists such as Mini & Maxi, the Ashton Brothers, Släpstick, and Victor Borge. The result is a performance that is light, surprising, and above all, very human.

Part of the National Theatre Weekend

The Omniband will be shown during the National Theatre Weekend. Once a year, theatres across the country open their doors for this weekend so that everyone – regulars and newcomers alike – can easily experience theatre.

Thanks to special prices, you can attend performances this weekend at a great price without sacrificing quality. A perfect opportunity to discover something new or revisit a show you already know.

Further information about the National Theatre Weekend can be found on the official website: https://www.nationaltheaterweekend.nl

Make it a thoroughly enjoyable evening.

For a perfect Saturday evening, we recommend the theater dinner at KLAAS, the restaurant next to the Dorpshuis De Zwaan. A three-course menu with changing specialties from the chef ensures you can relax and get in the mood for the performance.
