Whisky tasting at De Kroeg: Jeremy Bos presents a first-class tasting | Sunday, November 15, 2026

“I know I host a really entertaining wine tasting, but my whisky tasting is absolutely amazing,” says Jeremy Bos.
Modesty is clearly not his strong suit.
The annoying thing is: he's absolutely right.
We attended his whisky tasting ourselves last year. And yes, we can confirm that Jeremy not only knows a lot about whisky, but also how to make it an incredibly entertaining afternoon.
So when we saw that he was playing again at De Kroeg in Uitgeest on Sunday, November 15th, we didn't have to think twice.
This belongs in our events calendar.
Six whiskies and no sleep-inducing stories
During the tasting, you will be served six different whiskies with matching snacks.
But in our opinion, the best thing about this afternoon isn't just in the glasses.
Jeremy is the kind of person you can tell anything to without feeling like you've accidentally stumbled into a lecture.
He tells stories, sprinkles in the necessary anecdotes, and before you know it, you're listening with great interest to something you didn't even know you found interesting an hour earlier.
And meanwhile, you taste whisky.
That helps, of course.
We have already tested the whisky tasting.
Last year we were sitting at Jeremy's table ourselves.
And what impressed us most was how accessible he was in presenting the subject. You don't have to be a whisky connoisseur at all to have a pleasant afternoon.
You are free to simply try, discover, and occasionally come to the conclusion that a particular whisky doesn't quite suit your taste.
That's fine too.
In any case, we brought more than just a good story about whisky.
And that's precisely why we can recommend this tasting with complete conviction.
And back home after six whiskies?
So this is not necessary at all.
After the wine tasting, you can simply linger a while longer at De Kroeg. Or you can reserve a table at the Breeze restaurant and make it a truly wonderful afternoon.
We personally think the latter option is a pretty good idea.
Especially if you didn't intend to be particularly productive on Sunday anyway.

5 things you might not know
During American Prohibition, whiskey could still be sold with a doctor's prescription. Finally, a medication that people would voluntarily go to the doctor for.
The evaporation of whisky during maturation is referred to as the "angels' share." Apparently, the angels have been enjoying it for free for centuries.
In Scotland, there are whisky distilleries that mature their whisky in casks that previously held sherry, port, or bourbon. A used cask can therefore be quite appealing.
In 2018, a bottle of Macallan from 1926 was auctioned for well over a million pounds. And then you dare to complain about €37.50 for six glasses.
Whisky doesn't simply freeze in a normal household freezer. If you ever find a bottle next to the frozen pizzas, you'll know why it's still liquid.
Our tip? Make it a whole weekend.
Six types of whisky, delicious snacks and Jeremy Bos as the host of the afternoon.
We all know by now how much fun that is.
